The Norwegian Air Rescue gets state-of-the-art support. With pride, the Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation welcomed the first Airbus H145 five-blade rotor helicopter. The new version of the best-selling Airbus helicopter is therefore the very first in the world to be used in Norway.

Just last June, the Airbus H145 five-blade rotor helicopter received its EASA certification. Equipped with two Safran Arriel 2E engines, the helicopter can fly with 150 kilograms more payload than its predecessor. In addition, it is equipped with both the Helionix digital avionics suite and the FADEC digital engine control system.

I would like to thank the Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation for their trust in our helicopters and especially in the H145 family of helicopters. I can’t wait to see this new version in operation, contributing to the success of life-saving missions. Our teams have worked hard to bring this enhanced multi-mission helicopter to the market quickly.

Bruno Even, Airbus Helicopters CEO

Approval by the FAA is expected shortly. In addition, the military version of the Airbus H145 five-blade rotor helicopter is expected to be launched in 2021. Here, Airbus Helicopters is working closely with Kawasaki Heavy Industries. WingMag congratulates the Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation on its newest helper, which will hopefully help to save many lives.
