Legendary Reno Air Race in Nevada in danger

The Reno Air Race is a true legend among aviation enthusiasts. But of course, the Corona Pandemic also didn’t stop here and for the first time in decades, it couldn’t take place this year. This fact and the resulting lack of revenue is now putting the Reno Air Race in jeopardy.

It’s no secret that we at WingMag ourselves are big fans of this event, organised by the Reno Air Racing Association. Both in 2019 and 2018 we were able to share our experiences there with spectacular pictures. In this report you will also find interesting background stories from the last Reno Air Race. As this event is very close to our hearts and still impresses us today, we would like it to continue. However, in order for this to happen, the organiser needs financial support. Until the end of the year, the Reno Air Racing Association is trying to raise 500,000 US dollars to rehire employees and cover the costs of the Reno Air Race.

Almost a quarter of the donations have already been collected. This link will take you directly to the relevant website. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for the Reno Air Race. After all, it would be more than sad for us if we were never able to report on this unique event again in the future.
