Although the next FIFA World Cup is still a full two years away, the host country Qatar is already striving for a far-reaching presence. For example, there is now a special design for the aircraft of the national airline Qatar Airways. They are not only the official partner of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, but also the official airline of FIFA itself.

21 November is an important date, as the opening game of the coming FIFA World Cup will take place in two years’ time. That is why Qatar Airways chose this date to launch the aircraft with the new design for the first time. A Boeing 777-300ER, which will be the flagship of the FIFA World Cup 2022 from now on. According to Qatar Airways it will probably not be the only aircraft with this special painting. Moreover, Qatar Airways chose not only a significant date for the first flight, but also a special destination. Flight QR095 of the newly painted aircraft took the carrier from Doha to Zurich. This is where the headquarters of the partner FIFA are located.

What a great idea to ring in the last two years until the World Cup in Qatar. After all, we at WingMag have always been fans of aircraft with special paintwork. So we were just as enthusiastic about the Cargolux retro design a few months ago.
